How to Measure Your Ring Size Using a Paper Strip or a String
If you want to find out your ring size at home, you can use this simple method. Just follow these steps and you will have the perfect ring measurement in no time.
Step 1 – Take a piece of paper or string that is not stretchy and cut it to about 6 inches (152 mm) long and 1/4 inch (6.5 mm) wide.
Step 2 – Wrap it around the base of your finger so that it fits comfortably but not too tightly.
Step 3 – Mark the spot where the paper or string overlaps and forms a circle.
Step 4 – Measure the distance from the beginning of the paper or string to the mark.
Step 5 – Use this chart to find out your ring size based on your measurement.
To measure the space that the ring will take up, you can use tape or a short piece of string and wrap it around your finger. Mark where the string or tape meets to form a full circle. Then you can compare it with the chart below. If you want more width, you can add one more size to fit better.
Make sure the strip is not too tight or too loose on your finger. Adjust it to the right fit before measuring.
Consider the size of your knuckles (the joints of your finger). If you choose a size that is smaller than your knuckles, the ring may not go over them. Using a wide strip reduces this error.
